You are just a few steps away from your free lesson.

Step 1: Confirm your time zone is selected:

• Make sure your time zone is correctly selected. When you are logged into Speak Shop, your time appears at the top right of the page. To change it, log in, select My Account, select Edit profile tab, change “Select your Time Zone” then click the Update Profile button.
  Note: Your time zone must be in this format: Continent/Large City within your time zone (Example - America/Los_Angeles)
• When you view your tutor’s availability and schedule your lessons, the lesson times will appear in your own time zone. 

Step 2: Set up a Skype account

• You will meet your tutor using Skype, the most widely used free videoconferencing program. If you do not use Skype yet, you can download it for free from http://www.skype.com/
• If you already use Skype, be sure your Skype ID is in your Speak Shop account profile, which will allow your tutor to connect with you.
• To add your Skype ID to your Speak Shop profile - log into your Speak Shop account, select My Account, select Edit profile tab, change “Skype ID” then click the Update Profile button.
• Contact us if Skype is not a viable option for you. We will provide instructions for using an alternate videoconferencing program.

Step 3: Test your audio and video. 

• Log into your Skype account.
• Use Skype’s testing tools to check whether your audio and video are working.

Step 4: Reserve your Free Lesson 

• Select Log into your Speak Shop account.
• Select "Find a Tutor" in the left-hand menu.
• Review tutors and their qualifications.
• Click on ”Select a tutor and view calendar.”
• Select the day you want to take a lesson.
• Select one of the timeslots labeled Free Trial and complete the check out process (if free trial timeslots do not appear, you will need to try a different day or tutor).

Step 5: Take your Free Lesson 

• Log into your Speak Shop account a few minutes before your lesson.
• Accept your tutor’s invitation to connect to Skype and add her/him to your contacts.
• Answer your tutor’s Skype call.
• Enjoy a great lesson!
